RuggedFinds started from frustration with gear reviews that clearly hadn't been written by anyone who'd actually used the products. Polished spec rundowns, stock photography, and suspiciously perfect scores — none of it helps you decide whether a pair of boots will hold up on a wet trail or whether an awning is worth the money for weekend campervan trips.
The site is run by Carl — someone who spends a fair amount of time outdoors in the UK, primarily through campervan camping, hiking, and the kind of gear that has to earn its keep in genuinely variable British weather.
